Why Half-Parikrama of Shiva Linga suggested in Shiv Purana?

This has a great significance and Reason. Except for ShaktiShiva That is Shiva Linga all Gods are circumambulated in circle, not Shiva. His Parikrama is not done half , but actually from the doing u stop u have to come back to start point hence whole is done. Only going to either side of Shiva Linga only is not parikrama you shall get back to same place.

First how it is done, then why it is so, and different from all other Gods. The Argha of Shiva Lingam always faces towards North, that part from where jal and Nirmalya is vent out, The Rule is No one shall Stand or Sit or even face it, This part is restricted, One shall never do pranam pooja, directly facing Jalahari, The best place is just opposite the Shiva Linga where when you stand you will face North too, From opposite side you face south, not a disha where Satwic spiritual things are Done. And in same way when one does Parikrama of Shiva Lingam It should be Done in U form, You begin by side of shiva Linga and go to other side, till argha line do not cross it and get back to the place you started, This is One Full Parikrama of Lord. Now Why it is done so, Technically so that one shall not cross the jalahri, line, because all negative energy passes through here, ShivaLingam emanates high energies from three places, Negative from jalahari, Extreme energy from Top, Which shall be converted or sublimated by putting Bel Patra over it or Pushpa, Bhasm Chandan, Patra etc, But top the Mastak shall be covered always after his abhishek, Or the energy from top can not be tolerated by normalians, Siddhas Gyanis only can manage it for sometime if needed, This is all lot more Gyan and knowledge then that can be covered in an article like this, hence important things only, And third place from where energy emanates from Shiva Linga is the middle portion it always produced auspicious energies which can be easily absorbed by normalians.


Now the greater truer Reason why Shivas Parikrama is so, See normally in other gods whole circle would be taken as round for one parikrama, This is also called Chakra, This world universe is also called to be Chakra of Time, and all beings are, So you just like in bhavsagar you just go round and round, in chakra of births and rebirths pleasure pain, and all mundane disgust. Most Gods give four mokshas, and here maya doesnt end, and also just apply logic, the one who himself has to come again in a body, can he give you true moksha, hence in four mokhshas this Chakra wont stop, Or verify yourself,. even the lokas of moksha vaikuntha golok bhu kailas etc, maya doesnt goes away completely, you can see narad sanat kumars etc also getting angry in vaikuntha, the one who gives Sayujya moksha has to come down and take human birth, he is also not away from circle of Chakra or Karma.

The top among all mayawi moksha is Sayujya moksha, Let us see what happens here, One become like deity he worships, he may also take avatars yet be servant of that diety, only having his form, and when that diety goes to take avatar they may also follow, hence Chakra wont stop, and to stop this Chakra even MahaVishnus , Bramhas after there job time is over go to certain loka beyond time dilation, here they also work and meditate for GREATEST AND ONLY TRUE MOKSHA KAIVALYA, and just like these Mahavishnu etc we at earth are so fortunate that we can get that utter everlasting blissful beyond maya and time Kaivalya Moksha, But how, Tells Shree Ram in Muktika Upnishad that Only by Gyan and worship of True Adwait Shivam as depcited in upnishads such as Mandukya ShwetaShwatar. or To Stop this chain of pleasure pain drama ego, One shall worship SHIVA DEVOTEDLY. HE WILL CRUSH THIS CHAKRA, the maya.

Shiva parikrama denotes that, Your true Reality is always Bramhan, the pure bliss, But upon having a thought you get ego and strayed from Shiva self, it is like a wave roared in an ocean thinking it is individual apart from Ocean itself, this is false maya, and the wave would go falling rising changing shape and sizes, hence the SHIVAS part a drop from ocean for timer being took itself as different and took 84 lacs bodies initially, This is begining of Shiva Parikrama that Once u were Shiva but wanted to experience individuality got a different body, as u walk, it means that Jeevatman is now in motion experiencing the Maya,, taking many bodies and than human being stucked in karma, and is going on, But here Shiva breaks Chakra having no where to go, Now jeevatman returns to Home to his Original true blissful state of being SHIVA not and individual but divine consciousness. And then jeevatman returns back to same place hence same state, as you go back to place where u started parikrama.

Hence it means that Shiva breaks this circle of maya and illusion of duality, drama nonsense and establishes the being the jeevatman in his true form His Original eternal Shivatva. And as per Vedas and Shastras Only Shiva can do it. That is why all Shastras unanimously declare Only Kashi to be the place where Moskha is guaranteed for all her dwellers, be it even insect or rodents animals or fishes all are granted Mokshas here, Five Kind of Mokshas. None other Teertha or God has this Authority.
And Shiva has the peculiar quality, he usually would not make servants out of hos devotees like other popular gods, but In ShaktiShiva Realm, They offer One to become SHIVA Grant SHIVATVA or Godliness, That is how MahaVishnu and Bramha and Indra etc became Gods, by doing tapas dhyan sadhna worship of Shiva, Purans are full of such stories and those great places are still here as been made by these Gods to worship Shiva, All Gods have made temple for Shivas in his name. Like Rameshwar Gopeshwar. But Shiva The Param not made any temple for any God, that Nirakar beyond maya the Husband of Mahmaya Shakti is Final God, the Alpha and Omega.

Shree Ramana says, Kaivalya Atma Gyan depends on Grace the Anugrah the Fifth power of Param Shiva which Only he has, Other Gods like trinity have three powers, like srsti, sthiti lay and then Ishwar has fourth Tirobhav and only Param Shiva has anugrah the power to bestow Grace of Moksha Kaivalya eternal unending Bliss becoming Shiva from false imaginary Jeeva.

So this is why and how the Parikrama of Shiva is not complete circle but actually getting away beyond, above the Chakra. The Point to be noted it, This is case with ShivaLingam only, if there is statue of Shiva Parvati than it can circumambulated fully. As Here Shiva is in Sakar roop.

But ShivaLingam is form of God beyond form, the one in whom all Gods and goddesses entire Universe is present, hence Now understanding this signinficance Shiva would make his devotee free of this circle making him Shiva, Yet he would let one walk all the steps, he would not just take in between but as one becomes Gyani, he realizes Shiva self before the journey is complete, This is meaning if Shivas Parikrama.
